Yong-Xiao Wang has been a Full Professor in Albany Medical College (USA) since 2006. Dr. Wang has had extensive research experience in basic, translational and drug research concerning pulmonary hypertension, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, and cardiac arrhythmia for over 30 years. As the Principal Investigator, he has/had numerous NIH R01 research awards, AHA Established Investigator Award, and various other grants, for which he often holds/ held NIH R01 grants with other awards each year. As the corresponding author, first author and key contributor, he has had numerous publications in highly peerreviewed journals including Antioxid Redox Signal (impact factor: 8.209), Proc Natl Acad Sci USA (9.432), Nature (34.480), Circ Res (9.214), etc. Dr. Wang has been the editor of academic books in the field including one entitled by “Redox Signaling in Health and Disease Pulmonary Vasculature” that was published by Springer (New York) last fall. Dr. Wang has also served as the editorial board member and/or section editor for the Clinical and Translational Medicine, Pulmonary Circulation and several other journals.

Vladimír Štrbák has worked at Institute of Experimental Endocrinology, Slovak Academy of Sciences. Endocrinology, Diabetes and Pathophysiology

Dr. Ramesh K Adiraju is an Interventional cardiologist and endovascular specialist in clinical practice since 1993 in Philadelphia area. He established RENU-CA (REvascularization by Novel Utilization - Clinical Autonomic) research institute in 2005 to pursue my research interests. He has developed novel protocols for reversing Insulin requirements in Type-ll diabetics, Reverse left ventricular dysfunction in cardiomyopathy and heart failure patients and limb salvage in diabetics with peripheral vasculopathy. He has also developed novel treatment protocols for syncope and orthostatic hypotension patients. He has also pursued endovascular revascularization for peripheral arterial disease without stents followed by endothelial stabilization protocols to reduce re-stenosis. All these pursuits are as a solo practitioner without any University support for 15 years and I would look forward to having collaboration through the board to put out my work. Marco Falasca received the Ph.D from the Istituto Mario Negri, Italy in 1994 and did his postoctoral studies at the Department of Pharmacology, New York University. He was group leader at Mario Negri, Senior lecturer at University College London and Professor at Queen Mary University of London. In 2014, he was recruited by Curtin University, Perth, Australia, to held a Chair in Metabolism. His work is mostly focused on identification of novel therapeutic strategies for pancreatic cancer and diabetes. He has published more than 125 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute.

Dr. Lodhi graduated from medical school in 1999. She did her Family Medicine Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. This is where she recognized her calling in Geriatrics. She then did her fellowship in Geriatrics at George Washington University. In 2011, she became a faculty member at the same department as Assistant Professor of Medicine. Since then, she has been a versatile part of GW Geriatrics and Palliative practice. She believes in maintaining relationships with her patients through the continuum of outpatient, inpatient, post acute and long term care settings. She is also part of GW Palliative care practices, including home based hospice and inpatient hospice unit. Teaching is her passion! She has introduced the medical students, primary care residents to Geriatrics Medicine out of the traditional settings into assisted living facilities, post acute and long term care. Her Geriatrics/scholarly interests include healthy aging, improving care transitions especially through focus on medications and developing multifaceted systems to improve care delivery to seniors, incorporating community resources, deploying available technology to provide patient cantered care.

Serge Bottari, obtained his M.D. and his Ph.D. (Biochemistry) degrees at the Free University Brussels, Belgium. He specialized in OB/GYN and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Research Associate at UC San Francisco. After having been a project leader at Sandoz and CIBA-Geigy in Basle, Switzerland, he became Professor of Cell Biology at the Medical School and Head of Endocrine Biology at the University Hospital in Grenoble, France, in 1993. While still a medical student, he participated in the first purification of a G-protein coupled receptor (turkey erythrocyte ß-adrenergic receptor) to be reported in 1977. His first publication on structure-activity relationships of ß-adrenergic receptors appeared in 1979. His major contributions have been in the field of adrenergic and angiotensin receptors, in particular the AT2 receptor which he reported as one of the first GPCRs to activate tyrosine phosphatases and to regulate endothelial cell proliferation. He also participated in the development of the angiotensin AT1 receptor antagonist valsartan. He published numerous articles in premium journals and is member of several editorial boards and expert committees (INSERM, HCERES, HAS, Marie Curie COFUND,…). His current work focuses among others on the molecular mechanisms involved in insulin-resistance, infertility, nitro-oxidative stress and on the development of novel diagnostic tools.

He is a retired professor from Università di Firenze, Dept Pediatrics. 39055215744; emeritus member of the Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior, member of the Academy of Sciences of India Union. (born 1933) directed the Gastroenterology Research Unit, a third level referral center in the department of Pediatrics of the University of Florence (Meyer hospital) from 1965 to 2000. In Tuscany I first diagnosed celiac disease by the Watson capsule. I worked at the Cornell University for a joined research with the University of Florence on energy expenditure in children. A long term strategy was designed with Giuliano Parrini, prof. of Physics (Firenze, It), Andrea Giommi, prof. of Statistics (Firenze, It), and Cutberto Garza, Boston College, Rector. Three students came from Amsterdam Medical Center to learn “Initial Hunger (IH)”. The Unit published 150 scientific articles, more than 50 in international Press

Current interest: Loss of hunger sensations as cause of alimentary diabetes and malnutrition

Judith Aponte is a Hispanic Nurse, Educator, Researcher and Speaker. She is a tenured Associate Professor at Hunter College, School of Nursing, City University of New York. Her research focus is on Hispanics with diabetes. She is a fellow at the Academy of Medicine. She was an awardee and finalist of the 2014 NY/NJ Nursing Excellence in Giving Excellence Meaning award in the category of Advancing and Leading the Profession. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and has received grant funding, to examine diabetes and diabetes-related disparities among Hispanics and interventions that promote optimum health and minimize complications

Diabetes is causing an increase in mortality and morbidity especially among Hispanics and integration of CHWs may improve and reduce diabetes-complications.
